Morgenhof Chardonnay is a lighter more fruit driven style. The color is yellow with a green edge. The nose is dominantly limey, peach and floral blossom flavors with a slight presence of wood. The palate is fresh, crisp and fruit driven with a waxy mouth feel and soft wood flavor at the end. This wine should be enjoyed with fillet, rich chicken dishes, calamari, fried fish, crayfish dishes, and creamy soups. This will also be a good choice with a salad or other lighter meals. Morgenhof Sauvignon Blanc with its vibrant green yellow color is a very distinctive varietal wine with prominent flavors of green peppers, freshly cut grass and flint. The palate is full-bodied and smooth with the mentioned flavors lingering in the aftertaste. This wine should be enjoyed with grilled chicken dishes, light meat salads, creamy soups, and fish in any form or as a pre-dinner drink. John Platter – 4 Stars
Morgenhof Chenin Blanc has a lovely greenish-yellow color. On the nose the flavors are a combination of honey blossoms, dried apricots, peaches and lime with a good wood integration. The palate is full-bodied and complex with a good balance of acidity. The flavors on the nose follow well through on the palate. This wine goes well with red meat, poultry, curries, salads, or any form of fish. You can also enjoy as a pre-dinner drink. Fantail Sauvignon Blanc / Chenin Blanc The nose has a combination of citrus blossoms, lime, granadilla, a bit of grassiness with a touch of flintiness. The palate is crisp, dry with a round finish and lingering aftertaste. Morgenhof Estate Brut Reserve The wine has a pale straw yellow color with a green tint. The nose is a combination of cookie dough, granny smith apple, peaches, orange blossom flavors and a touch of savory spice. The palate has a crisp acidity which adds to a lot of freshness, but is also quite full-bodied. The taste is yeasty, green apple and apricots.
Fantail Merlot has a very dark garnet red color. The nose is an explosion of plum, black cherry, dark chocolate and mocha flavors. The palate meets with the expectations and is full-bodied, well-structured with a lingering red cherry. John Platter – 4 Stars 2010 Best Value Wine Magazine
Fantail Cabernet / Cabernet Franc This is a delectable medium bodied wine with soft, rounded tannins. The nose displays a tantalizing combination of balck berries, plums and spices. Morgenhof Premier Selection Blend This is a complex full-bodied wine with an intense dark ruby red color. The nose is a combination of prune, black cherries and dark chocolate flavors with quite a strong smell of meatiness. Morgenhof Estate Merlot 2006 A lovely ruby color, the nose of this wine is full of black cherries, mulberries and spicy flavors. These flavors carry through and finishes on a lingering, rich fruit palate with a smooth aftertaste.
Morgenhof Estate 04 Full ripe flavors of black berries, prune & black cherries entice you on the nose. These intense flavors follow through to the layered and complex palate with added hints of dark chocolate and mixed spice. The tannins are fruit driven and supple.
Morgenhof Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 04 This wine has a dark ruby color, the note is intense with flavors of black berries, cassis, spice and violets. These flavors follow through onto a full palate that ends with a firm tannic structure.
